Lavaredo Ultra Trail course key stats
Source: The distance and the ascent are from the race organiser (lavaredo.utmb.world). We calculate the descent from the organiser ascent and the elevation difference between the start and the finish. The elevation profile and the gradient data come from a 25 m digital elevation model (EU-DEM). All elevations are to the nearest 10 m (50 ft).

About the course
The Lavaredo Ultra Trail is a c.75 mi120 km ultramarathon that loops through the Dolomites of north-east Italy. It starts and finishes in Cortina d'Ampezzo, host of the 1956 and 2026 Winter Olympics. From Cortina the route heads north-east past Lake Misurina to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, the three limestone peaks the race is named after. It then turns west through the Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park and returns to Cortina via the Passo Giau and the Cinque Torri.
The course has 19,050 ft5,800 m of elevation gain and loss. It never drops much below Cortina's c.3,950 ft1,200 m, reaching a high point of c.8,050 ft2,450 m. Almost all of it is on rocky mountain paths, scree and forest tracks through dramatic Dolomite scenery, much of it within a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Lavaredo Ultra Trail course elevation
The Lavaredo Ultra Trail course climbs and descends around 19,050 ft5,800 m over its c.75 mi120 km distance. Its gain per km is almost identical to that of the shorter Lake Bled 80. The climbing is less concentrated than on UTMB, but more sustained than on the Montane Lakeland 100.

Lavaredo Ultra Trail course weather conditions
In late June, Cortina and the valley floors are usually mild, with daytime temperatures typically around 20°C68°F. On the high Dolomite passes it is much colder, especially overnight, when temperatures can fall close to freezing and occasionally below.
Rain is likely. Early summer in the Dolomites often brings afternoon thunderstorms, and these can make the exposed rocky passes and scree slopes wet and hazardous.
The weather data has been obtained using the Open-Meteo historical weather API.

Lavaredo Ultra Trail course altitude statistics
